Throughline Reader for iOS

Getting Started

• Add text: Tap the + button to paste text, import a file, or scan a document
• Start reading: Tap anywhere on the word stage to begin
• Adjust speed: Drag the WPM indicator in the toolbar
• Rewind: Swipe left to go back, right to skip forward
• Browse context: Open the browsing panel to see surrounding paragraphs

Throughline Pro

Throughline Pro unlocks all fonts, colors, backgrounds, unlimited library, analytics, iCloud sync, Apple Watch companion, AI summaries, and advanced pacing controls.

• Upgrade: Settings → Throughline Pro, or tap any locked feature
• Restore purchases: Settings → Restore Purchases
• Family Sharing: All plans support Family Sharing
• Manage subscription: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions

Safari Extension

Save articles from Safari to your reading queue with one tap.

• Open Safari → Settings → Extensions → Throughline
• Toggle the extension on and grant permissions
• Tap the Throughline icon in the Safari toolbar to queue articles

Apple Watch

Articles under 3,000 words sync automatically to your Apple Watch. Use the Digital Crown to adjust reading speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I add more items to my library?

The free tier supports up to 10 library items. Upgrade to Throughline Pro for unlimited storage.

Where is my reading data stored?

All data is stored locally on your device. With Throughline Pro, you can enable iCloud sync to keep your library across devices.

How do AI summaries work?

Summaries are generated entirely on your device using Apple's Foundation Models framework. No data is sent to any server. Requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence.

My purchases aren't showing up on my other device.

Go to Settings → Restore Purchases on the other device. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID.
